Blessed Christmas
This Christmas period was a really busy but fulfilling one.Juggling with work, preparation for Christmas party and spending time with loved ones are not easy.
Besides exchanging Christmas gifts in church, feasting with my dear and her family, farewell lunch for Raymond (see ya in half a year's time Rayzor!!), watching "night in the museum" with my dear and my church friends, playing arcade at Toa Payoh entertainment centre, I had a better understanding and remember what Christmas is all about.
Our Christmas party was held in 22nd December, theme was Christmas Actually. Thank God everything went off smoothly though there wasn't much preparation and many last minute changes due to unforeseen circumstances. There were about 50+ people with more than half are invited guests. As I was the co-Emcee, it was really not my comfort zone to ra-ra the people but God just enabled me to flow through the games and facilitating to my other Emcee to share the Hoyt video clip. Everytime I view the clip again, it just touched my heart and really amazed by the love of a father can do for his son. The background of this video clip is about this father (Dick Hoyt) who loved his son so much that he "carried" him through the marathon. Rick, who is disabled at birth due to brain damage at birth wanted to compete and complete in a marathon just like anybody else. His dad saw his son's HEART, decides to fulfill his wish because of his LOVE for him.
This brings to a story that many people (irregardless they are Christians or not) have come across but many do not really understand the true meaning.
Many times we blame God when we are at our lowest pits. We blame on why He allowed it to happen, we blame on where He is at those moments. But we failed to realise that God is actually carrying us through and even testing us and teaching us to be less dependent on self (or Man) but more dependent on God. For He loved us so much that He already sent his One and Only Son, to die on the Cross for us so that whoever believe in Him shall not parish but have eternal life.
Wish everyone who read this post to have a blessed Christmas and really understand what Christmas Actually is all about. =)
