Update

It has been exactly 2 weeks since I last submitted my post. Wanted to post alot of my feelings my thoughts but it was either I
i) reached home too late and tired to blog or
ii) I was at home but was not in the mood to blog at that moment of time.

Last friday we had a mini welcome party at one of my friend's house to welcome new members in our section so that we can get to know each other better. God not just made everyone to have a relationship with Him but also to live in a community with His people. In this party, it is a way of building up this community and also letting them know about covenental relationship. The party had very fun games and good food. I shared my testimony on how many fellow cell members prayed alongside with me when I faced with problems and even regarding my little sister. Yes, I know that I have my fellow brothers and sisters who are there keeping my little sis in prayer. I shared until I almost wanted to break down because my family is very close to my heart. I felt emotionally spent after the sharing but I believe God has used me to impact the people around me. I felt so paiseh after that because very few people get to see this side of me.

Last saturday went for the Da Vinci Conspiracy service. I could say that the preacher was very good in summarizing the whole movie. He said that the author of the book used real people in a fictional setting and through a smart way of twisting and using of words that it made what's real and what's false in a state of confusion. To know more about it, can visit www.religionfacts.com/da_vinci_code . I just want to point out that the bible wasn't created or compiled by Constantine but the Bible is
i) Written over a span of 1500 years
ii) Written by different people
iii) Written in 3 different languages
iv) It talked about 1 central theme (The love of God for Man)

If one don't believe in apologetics (study of defending your faith), or Bible; few more reasons for you to believe:
i) History verifies it;
ii) Archeology supports it;
iii) Prophecy proves it; and lastly
iv) Lives EXPERIENCE it.

Today my little sis's counsellors came to my house for house visit. My parents were there to welcome them. They came to find out more about the background, about the living conditions at home and also to advise what to do what not to do when my little sis gets to "book out" during the weekend in a month's time. When they were looking at my little sis's room, my dad told me that my mum almost cried even while showing them her room. Hmmm.... think I inherit the emotional genes from my mum, always so easy to get emotional when talking/thinking about things that are dear to our heart. Hmmm..... this coming sunday my parents going to visit my little sis one more time before going off for their 30th anniversary (2nd honeymoon) to Europe for 2 weeks. My dad going to personally cook for her fish soup to eat during the visit. The next visit would be my done by my sister and I. Hope can wake up early enough on a Sunday morning to visit her. ;p kidding.

A much talked about movie.
Wanting to know more? Go catch the movie.
I'm going with my girlfriend if she's free (provided she wants to go. Hee). Lazy to read the thick book and hope that watching the movie summarizes the gist of the book.

However, after watching the movie. Make your way down to trinity christian centre to know much more about the truth.

The Da Vinci Conspiracy
Sometimes there’s more than meets the eye. (not transformers though the movie is coming next year 2007)
Unlock the code.

Chinese Names

Caller : Hello, can I speak to Annie Wan (anyone)?
Operator : Yes, you can speak to me.
Caller: No, I want to speak to Annie Wan (anyone)!
Operator: You are talking to someone! Who is this?
Caller: I'm Sam Wan (Someone). And I need to talk to Annie Wan (anyone)! It's urgent.
Operator: I know you are someone and you want to talk to anyone! But what's this urgent matter about?
Caller: Well... just tell my sister Annie Wan (anyone) that our brother Noel Wan (no one) was involved in an accident. Noel Wan (no one) got injured and now Noel Wan (no one) is being sent to the hospital. Right now, Avery Wan (everyone) is on his way to the hospital.
Operator: Look if no one was injured and no one was sent to the hospital, then the accident isn't an urgent matter! You may find this hilarious but don't have time for this!
Caller: You are so rude! Who are you?
Operator: I'm Saw Lee (Sorry).
Caller: Yes! You should be sorry. Now give me your name!!

First official visit to Girls' Home by my parents

To close off the election issue, as expected PAP won 82 wards of the available 84. What was surprising was though the opposition party retained their wards, the percentage of their votes rose. My colleague felt that if PM Goh didn't "help" the respective candidates, the results may be different. Well, what's past is past. Verdict has been set. All the hoo-ha are gone. Only to look forward to GE2010/11/12? Now maybe the rest of the people are looking forward to WC2006. WP almost won Aljunied GRC. Hmm... wonder the "dangerous" sub areas will be cut and put into marine parade or bishan the next time round. hhaha...

My parents went to visit my little sis in Girls' home for the first time officially. They went with mixed feelings (guilty of putting her in, relieved putting her in. Wonder will she blame them and hate them forever) but thank God she was happy to see them. She passed 2 small notes (one for my mum other for her primary school friend) to my parents and told them to open it when they reached home. The setting was like parents visiting their children during army. In a room with about 10 tables and chairs to sit and chat. They were given half an hour to eat and chat, afterwards the next batch of 10 will come and meet their parents. Total there were about 8 shifts.

When my parents reached home, my dad read one of the notes. It was meant for my mum. Inside the letter, my lil sis wrote that she didn't blame my parents for what they did. Indeed she realised her mistake and she hoped that she will change for the better in girls' home. She intends to take up hairdressing course thus she'll be studying one year of secondary (only English and Maths till next year July) then she'll go to NIE for hairdressing course. Thus in actual fact, she's actually faster (half a year) than her peers who are outside studying in secondary school and wanting to go NIE. Really pray that what she wrote is meant for real and she'll be wise and determined enough to differeniate between good and bad. She also added that she never realised when is Mother's day till this very time and how much she missed my mum and how much she wanted to celebrate for her. She couldn't coz the next time she get to see her is 2 weeks later. She ended off saying that she realised she's the most fortunate girl in the world and she love my mum alot.

The other note is meant for her primary school friend whom my parents trust. Inside the note my lil sis asked her to help consolidate whoever her friends want to say to her to write to her. When my mum contacted her, she told her that the friends who were caught gluesniffing told the police that the mastermind of the glue-sniffing case was my lil sis. If my lil sis know about this, she'll definitely be furious (she's been made the scapegoat but it doesn't affect her coz she's now in girls home under court order). My mum told her friend to write what she know to her coz my lil sis will believe what her friends say compared to parents (according to last time la). Till then... everything looking good and thanks for the people who has been keeping a little prayer for my lil sis. =)

SG Rally blog

Chanced upon this blog recommended by my friend.
Got video coverage on some of the rallys where many are lazy to go.
But you got to go to both a PAP and an opposition rally and see the difference in attendance man.
PAP uses 8-10 buses to fetch aunties and uncles to come watch.
Opposition dun need buses and they get people from all around the island to listen and watch. And attendance is at least 10 times more than 10buses full of people.
Read the Sg rally blog and you will get what I mean.
http://sgrally.blogspot.com/

My mum said that she went to PAP rally and was really angry of the family of the candidates within the inside boundary meant ONLY for media. And they were carrying big umbrellas and blocking the people's view in front. When some of the people went to ask the police how can they like that, they say that they are from the media. Ya, when did media consist of children in the group? Young camerakid and videokids ah? haha

Rally

Today I read the straits times and I read a poll of why people don't want to go to rally.
True, the rally is hot and crowded however what the candidates said in the rally doesn't mean EVERYTHING is reported in the news/papers. For the opposition parties, only those that are not too "important" are reported.

Yesterday I went to a rally from an opposition party. I'm amazed by the crowd that it has drawn. From what I see, easily at least 10 thousand people watching and listening. They looked happy and cheered when they see the candidates up the stage.

"You have a choice!" is their motto for this election. They mentioned about mostly on healthcare, upgrading of flats & increase of transport fees. What I'm writing is according to what I heard yesterday. Most are not reported in the papers today.

For healthcare, they said that our govt (1st world) is only spending 1% of their GDP on it. If compare with other 1st world countries, our stats is definitely way below theirs. With rising elderly in the coming few years, 1% is definitely not a very significant sum to help the people of Singapore who have contributed in some way or others.

For transport fees, they're amazed that how come transport companies are earning profits of millions of dollars, still have to increase fee. Aren't the govt doing anything to fight for the residents?

For upgrading of flats, the opposition party spent their limited budget to open up lifts on every storey of the flat so that it'll be convenient for the residents. For the first flat, it went on smoothly and not a single cent was taken from the residents. However, when they wanted to do on another one, they received a letter from HDB that when want to upgrade of flats, there is a cluase that says every resident of the flat has to pay no matter what. Why is this so? This is the first time i hear that opposition want to use their money to pay and not wanting residents to pay at all to be rejected. What logic?

Last but not least, Hougang has waited 15 years for their flats to be upgraded. There was no transparency on the queue and where exactly is Hougang flats in the queue. However, when election is coming, the govt say that vote for them and their flats will be the first to be upgraded. Hmmm... I'm abit displeased on the way they throw these carrots to the people. If they win, even though their flats are upgraded, the residents have to pay thousands of dollars each. It seems that the residents in this way will become the "carrot".

Oh yar, one last final thing that they mentioned was that for govt hospitals, they will be using means testing to see who are eligible for class C wards rebates. This means that those that "seems" to earn more have to pay more for the fees. The chairwoman said that such measures are used in rehabiliation centres already. This made me think of my little sister in girls' home. Having to pay 1k per month is absurb. Imagine my dad, my mum, my sis and I's combined progress packages are not enough to pay her 1 month maintainese fee. Hmmmm.........

You have a choice this saturday! =)
